Sun Siyam Iru Fushi has introduced the initial phase of its comprehensive resort redesign, a key step in the property’s development under the newly established Sun Siyam Luxury Collection. This five-star Maldives resort now presents a refreshed collection of overwater villas, establishing a contemporary standard that merges sophisticated island elegance with authentic Maldivian artistry.

The reimagined overwater accommodations mark the opening chapter of the wider transformation. These villas deliver a modern interpretation of rustic Maldivian luxury, characterised by clean lines and a tranquil atmosphere. Each unit is oriented to capture expansive ocean views, featuring an open-plan interior and a generously proportioned bathroom that includes a bathtub positioned to overlook the lagoon. Expansive private decks incorporate varied lounging areas, suspended hammocks, and secluded nooks finished in gentle green hues, evoking an understated, comfortable sense of refinement.

All Horizon Water Villas now include a 22 sqm private pool accompanied by sunken seating, creating an ideal setting for morning rituals at sunrise, leisurely hours in the afternoon, and dramatic sunset views. Specialised touches ensure that stays for couples and honeymooners feel distinctly personal and thoughtfully arranged.

The overwater selection comprises 40 Water Villas with Pool (123 sqm), 16 Horizon Water Villas with Pool (128 sqm), and 19 Sunset Horizon Water Villas with Pool (128 sqm). Each category combines exceptional comfort with complete privacy in a harmonious balance.

The redesign has been guided by international interior design consultants Lee McNichol and Jose Rivero, Founders and Creative Directors of the London-based Studio Sixty7, appointed by Sun Siyam to steer the project. Their vision brings a distinctive style defined by subdued colour palettes, organic textures, and fluid, softly sculpted shapes that convey natural, barefoot sophistication. Subtle imperfections in plastered walls, tactile surfaces, and airy layers of linen contribute to an ambiance that feels relaxed while remaining distinctly elevated. “Every element has been chosen to feel grounded and sensorial, inviting guests into a deep sense of calm,” said Lee McNichol and Jose Rivero.

“This transformation goes beyond aesthetics—it’s a careful orchestration of space, service excellence, and emotional detail,” highlighted Abdulla Atham, the hotel’s Resort Manager. “From villa layouts and in-villa experiences to the minibar selection, outdoor offerings, views, and quiet gestures from your butler, each moment is designed to immerse guests into the spirit of chic island living”.

Sun Siyam Iru Fushi advances its evolution into a resort recognised for discreet luxury and genuine island character.
