Alila Kothaifaru Maldives is set to celebrate the festive season with a focus on generosity and eco-conscious experiences, combining joyful holiday traditions with meaningful acts of sustainability. Guests will be encouraged to take part in a series of activities that support both the environment and the local community, reflecting the resort’s commitment to nurturing people and the planet. Throughout the season, visitors can donate, run, paddle, and plant for charitable causes, while also enjoying culinary events that highlight the natural produce of the Maldives.
Aligned with its World of Care pledge, the resort has launched initiatives designed to enhance the learning environment at R. Maduvvari School on nearby Maduvvari Island and to help protect the delicate marine ecosystem surrounding the property. Participation in the holiday activities directly contributes to these efforts, ensuring that each event delivers a positive and lasting impact within the surrounding community and the underwater world that borders the island.
From 25 December 2025 to 7 January 2026, guests will be invited to spread festive cheer through the Christmas Charity Surprise Tree, where beautifully wrapped items can be purchased as a way of giving back. On 27 December 2025, visitors will have the chance to take part in coral planting beneath the clear, turquoise waters encircling Alila Kothaifaru. Led by Euro Divers, this initiative supports an ongoing conservation program focused on strengthening the house reef by increasing coral diversity. Planting resilient coral fragments contributes to creating a thriving habitat for marine life and preserving the natural heritage of the Maldives.
On 28 December 2025 and 4 January 2026, Seasalt restaurant will host the Boat to Table BBQ along the beachfront, offering diners a feast of seafood that reflects the flavors of the Indian Ocean. The buffet will showcase dishes such as Giant Tuna sashimi, ceviche, and grilled fish, all prepared from the daily catch supplied by local fishermen. The event highlights the resort’s dedication to sustainability through locally sourced ingredients while supporting the nearby Raa Atoll community.
Holiday visitors can also join the Charity Kayak Race on 30 December 2025 and 5 January 2026, where participants will paddle across the lagoon for a chance to win a special prize. Any donation is accepted to enter, with all proceeds directed to improving facilities at the R. Maduvvari pre-school. On 2 January 2026, the Charity Island Fun Run will offer a scenic start to the new year as guests run around the island while wearing a commemorative t-shirt. Each purchase contributes to the resort’s charitable initiatives and acts as a reminder of a meaningful festive season.
