Siyam World Maldives partnered with the Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI) to host a dynamic half-day event for students from Kudafari School. The Discover Tourism: Explore Career Pathways programme welcomed 21 students from Grades 9 and 10, all enrolled in Travel and Tourism studies. The initiative provided an immersive experience, allowing the students to explore various facets of resort operations, including guest services, culinary arts, recreation, and sustainability efforts. Through guided tours and interactive activities, the young participants gained valuable insights into the skills, teamwork, and dedication required to excel in the hospitality sector.
The programme, now in its 8th iteration, is a nationwide effort spearheaded by MATI to inspire Maldivian youth to pursue careers in the thriving tourism industry. Previous editions have been held at various resorts and organizations across the country. Representing MATI at the event were Executive Director Rafil Mohamed and Communications Strategist Reena Abdul Wahid, who joined Siyam World’s Director of Training and Development, Ahmed Ibrahim, in guiding the students through this educational experience. The session offered hands-on exposure, sparking curiosity and ambition among the participants.
Siyam World’s commitment to fostering the next generation of Maldivian hospitality professionals was evident throughout the event. By encouraging creativity and passion in young students, the resort aims to contribute to the continued growth and success of the nation’s tourism industry. Such initiatives play a vital role in ensuring that future leaders in the sector are equipped with the knowledge and enthusiasm needed to maintain the Maldives’ reputation for world-class hospitality.
