Equator Village has been named the Indian Ocean’s Leading Airport Hotel at the World Travel Awards 2025, marking its third consecutive win in this category. The prestigious award ceremony took place on 28 June in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, reaffirming the resort’s commitment to excellence and consistent service. Equator Village previously secured the same accolade in both 2023 and 2024.

Resort Manager Mohamed Waheed expressed his pride in the achievement, noting that the award is a reflection of the team's ongoing dedication and care. “Winning for the third consecutive year is a proud moment for all of us. It’s a true testament to the passion, creativity, and effort of our team. From the personalised service to the warm and welcoming spaces they so thoughtfully create, every detail reflects their dedication. This award is a celebration of their hard work, and we sincerely thank our guests and partners for being part of our journey,” he said.

Recognised globally as one of the most prestigious honours in the tourism and hospitality industry, the World Travel Awards have been celebrating excellence for over three decades. Winners are determined through an international voting process involving both travel professionals and the public.

Conveniently located just five minutes from Gan International Airport, Equator Village blends accessibility with the relaxed atmosphere of the southern Maldives. The resort features 78 spacious bungalows set within lush flower gardens, offering guests a tranquil setting. Onsite amenities include a beachfront restaurant, a bar, a swimming pool, a gym, and meeting facilities — all delivered with the signature warmth and tropical hospitality of the region.
