The Gadhdhoo Council has announced a new investment opportunity on the uninhabited island of Gan, part of the Gaafu Dhaalu atoll. This island, included in the Gadhdhoo land use plan, is now open for project proposals from both Maldivian and international companies. Interested parties are invited to submit Letters of Expression (LOEs) outlining their plans, with a deadline set for April 30.
Located just a five-minute journey from Gadhdhoo, Gan currently serves the local community as a site for agricultural activities. The council is eager to see the island developed further and is welcoming ideas across a range of sectors. Potential initiatives include tourism-related ventures, agricultural and fisheries projects, production and manufacturing efforts, and research-based endeavors.
Once LOEs are reviewed, shortlisted companies will advance to the next stage, where they can submit detailed bids based on their proposed projects. This move signals an exciting chance to transform Gan into a hub of innovation and economic growth while leveraging its proximity to Gadhdhoo.
