At the prestigious 75th Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale), the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) unveiled an engaging advertising campaign in collaboration with top industry partners. Held on February 23rd, 2025, the event provided an unparalleled opportunity to showcase the Maldives as the world’s premier luxury and leisure destination to global travel and tourism professionals.


Berlinale, one of the most esteemed film festivals worldwide, draws an impressive audience of over 1.6 million attendees, including filmmakers, celebrities, industry executives, and cinema enthusiasts. Visit Maldives leveraged this platform by presenting two large digital billboards featuring breathtaking 30-second video advertisements, highlighting the pristine landscapes and luxurious appeal of the Maldives.


The campaign was executed in partnership with renowned entities such as SO/ Maldives, Resort Life Travel, Canareef Resort Maldives, Arena Hotels, Brennia Kottefaru, and Summer Island Maldives. This initiative reinforced Visit Maldives’ dedication to innovative global marketing efforts and its commitment to attracting high-end travelers worldwide.


The 75th Berlinale was a landmark edition, featuring the debut of artistic director Tricia Tuttle. The festival opened with the premiere of The Light by Tom Tykwer and showcased an illustrious lineup of Hollywood stars, including Timothée Chalamet, Robert Pattinson, and Jessica Chastain.



Participating in such a high-profile event allowed Visit Maldives to connect with a diverse and affluent audience, further strengthening the Maldives’ reputation as a luxurious and tranquil retreat. The stunning visual displays and compelling message left a lasting impression on festival attendees, reinforcing the destination’s appeal as a must-visit paradise.
