The Visit Maldives Club (VMC) has officially opened registrations for the Maldives’ premier sport fishing event, "BurunuBoma," which is set to take place in May 2025. VMC is a program initiated by the Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) to promote the country’s tourism sector by organizing events that bring together the tourism community and enhance the Maldives' reputation as a top global destination.
The tournament was launched on 20th December 2024, at a ceremony at the Malé Table Tennis Hall, which was attended by the Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources, Ahmed Shiyam. Anglers from both the Maldives and around the world are invited to take part in this thrilling competition, where the grand prize of USD 10,000 awaits the winning team.
