The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) is hosting "Visit Maldives Week" in Russia, collaborating with 22 representatives from 14 Maldivian tourism companies. This week-long event is designed to highlight the Maldives as a top travel destination, showcasing its diverse offerings to the Russian market in three major cities.


To enhance the experience, "Visit Maldives Week" featured interactive photo zones, a media meet in Moscow, and an engaging "Maldives Passport" game with prizes. B2B meetings, networking sessions, and workshops are also part of the event, promoting the Maldives as a top destination. In St. Petersburg, attendees can win a holiday prize sponsored by Canareef Resort Maldives, which includes a 2-night full-board stay with return transfers for two.


The Visit Maldives team has planned various activities to engage the Russian market, including a series of webinars, campaigns with tour operators and airlines, public relations efforts, media familiarization trips, and partnerships with Destination Management Companies. These initiatives aim to strengthen the Maldives' presence and attract more Russian tourists.


Russia has consistently been a key source market for the Maldives, ranking second in tourist arrivals, with 20,902 visitors in January 2025. Visit Maldives aims to further solidify this position through its ongoing roadshow series, confident that the initiative will boost the Maldives' appeal among Russian travelers. The campaign's success will help strengthen the Maldives' standing as a top destination for tourists from Russia.
