Sun Siyam Vilu Reef has officially introduced its new Ocean Signature Villas with Pool and Slide during an exclusive launch event attended by local media, partners, and invited VIP guests. The unveiling was led by Sun Siyam Founder and Chairman, Hon. Ahmed Siyam Mohamed, who presented what the resort describes as its most ambitious villa transformation to date.
Part of Sun Siyam's Privé Collection, Sun Siyam Vilu Reef has added 50 new overwater villas under the Ocean Signature Villas with Pool and Slide category, comprising 48 one-bedroom villas and two two-bedroom retreats. Representing the resort's most substantial transformation in years and its most ambitious design statement so far, the new villas introduce a concept where tranquillity and playfulness exist side by side, complemented by Maldivian hospitality and experiences inspired by authentic island sophistication.
Created for guests seeking both privacy and connection, the Ocean Signature Villas with Pool and Slide are offered in one and two-bedroom layouts and enjoy prime lagoon locations with uninterrupted views from sunrise to sunset. Designed to suit both couples and families, the villas provide an environment equally suited to peaceful retreat and shared experiences.
The interiors have been carefully planned to match the surrounding setting. A concealed privacy divider, a spacious lounge featuring a 65" display, and a discreet integrated pantry for in-villa dining are among the key features. Dramatic arch details appear throughout the villas, while the layout transitions seamlessly from the bedroom to the dressing area and into an open-plan bathroom equipped with a freestanding bathtub and dual vanities. Each bedroom also includes a private en-suite bathroom and a 50" television.

Beyond the interiors, the outdoor areas have been designed as destinations in themselves. Each villa features a signature overwater hammock overlooking the lagoon, a private pool for relaxation, and an 11-metre water slide, combining luxury with a sense of fun and adventure.
To introduce a refined design language across the project, Sun Siyam collaborated with international interior design consultants Lee McNichol and Jose Rivero, Founders and Creative Directors of the London-based Studio Sixty7. They led the transformation and development of the concept, creating interiors characterised by natural materials, sculpted curves, and design elements inspired by the movement and calm of the surrounding Maldivian waters.
"Studio Sixty7’s vision for this new luxury overwater villa in the Maldives balances calm minimalism with bold expression. White timber-paneled walls create a light, serene backdrop, contrasted by a deep blue ceiling that reflects the richness of the surrounding ocean. Arched ceiling details guide movement through the space, echoed in the soft, curved forms of the bespoke timber joinery. Recessed lighting is seamlessly integrated to enhance the architecture, casting a warm, subtle glow. Locally made artwork adds depth and authenticity, grounding the design in its Maldivian context.
