InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort has announced the promotion of Jean Claire Riveral Sumayod to the position of Director of Spa and Wellness, effective June 2026, in recognition of her contributions to the resort’s spa and wellness operations.
A member of the InterContinental Maldives team for more than two and a half years, Jean has played a significant role in the development of the resort’s wellness and spa offering, helping to foster a more holistic and guest-focused approach to relaxation and wellbeing.
Before assuming her new position, she served as Spa and Wellness Manager, overseeing team development initiatives while supporting the continued expansion and operational performance of the spa. Through a leadership style centred on people and supported by extensive knowledge of luxury hospitality, she has contributed to raising service standards and advancing the resort’s long-term wellness strategy.
Jean was recently nominated for the Hotelier Maldives Wellness Personality of the Year Award, acknowledging her contribution to spa and wellness within the Maldives hospitality industry. She also achieved a 100% Colleague Heartbeat score, reflecting her strong commitment to colleague engagement and professional development.
These achievements, together with her ongoing leadership and influence, have led to her promotion to Director of Spa & Wellness, recognising her contribution to shaping both the guest and colleague experience at the resort.
