As travellers increasingly look for experiences that extend beyond traditional indulgence to include creativity and personal growth, InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort introduces a distinctive International Women’s Day programme centred on artistic expression. Framing art as a channel for empowerment, the resort presents an immersive concept that places creative participation at its core.

On 8 March 2026, the property unveils Ocean Muse: A Women’s Day Atelier, an intimate jewellery art workshop created exclusively for women. Guided by Resident Artist Anastasia Medvedeva, participants are invited to design a bespoke 925 silver jewellery piece. Each creation incorporates authentic Maldivian sand, fine shells, and ocean-inspired pigments, resulting in a wearable piece that reflects both the natural surroundings and individual expression.

Hosted at The Collective’s Art Studio, the atelier shifts the focus of Women’s Day toward hands-on creation and personal authorship. Attendees collaborate directly with a jewellery couturier, transforming raw island materials into a lasting keepsake shaped by their own narrative and craftsmanship.

The celebration extends beyond the studio through a curated series of wellness offerings at AVI Spa. These include a Ladies’ Glow Facial Experience and a women-only Sound Healing Session, both designed to promote renewal, radiance, and emotional balance.

Collectively, the art atelier and spa rituals align with a broader global shift toward art-focused travel, where creativity, mindfulness, and purposeful connection increasingly define contemporary luxury. At InterContinental Maldives, International Women’s Day becomes both a recognition of resilience and an opportunity for reflection, creation, and personal evolution.
