This festive season, Oaga Art Resort invites visitors to experience the Maldives through the eyes of Foo, the island’s timeless curator and guiding spirit. Foo, Oaga’s unseen co-creator, weaves his presence across art, cuisine, performances, and storytelling, shaping an atmosphere that encourages wonder, curiosity, and meaningful connection without seeking the spotlight. Through his perspective, the resort brings to life centuries of Maldivian memory and experience, presented in the vibrant, animated style of a living comic book. From the women who sustain island communities to artists capturing the essence of sound, Foo’s narrative celebrates individuality rooted in tradition.
Guests can anticipate a festive season rich in culture, creativity, and joyful discovery. A fully Maldivian line-up of artists will take the stage, offering authentic music that honors local rhythm and tradition while highlighting homegrown talent. Culinary experiences will focus on regional flavors, featuring a dedicated “Voyage Around Maldives” cart with dishes prepared by skilled cooks sourced from across the atolls. Cultural workshops in kasabu gethun, roanu veshun, thundu kunaa, fangi viyun, and liyelaa jehun, curated in partnership with Kiyavahi, will immerse visitors in traditional crafts. Additional highlights include surprise comic panels, flash performances, and a botanical Christmas tree crafted entirely from local vines and plants, reflecting sustainability and island creativity. Multi-talented artists-in-residence Jaime Brown and Karim Jabbari will return for their third visit, leading workshops and creative masterclasses for guests.
The festive season at Oaga also introduces new experiences alongside its traditional offerings. In October 2025, the theatrical dining show The First Coconuts will debut, bringing Maldivian myth to life through cuisine and performance. The Veyoge Gallery Villa Exhibition 25–26, launching in November 2025, will transform 15 villas into gallery spaces showcasing original works by local artists exploring Maldivian life, folklore, and culture. Guests staying seven nights or longer can enjoy complimentary dining from the newly introduced Sobi à la carte menu, adding an exclusive long-stay benefit.
Through Foo’s eyes, even familiar surroundings feel renewed. Oaga Art Resort invites visitors not just to celebrate the season, but to become part of a timeless Maldivian story that is playful, poetic, and unmistakably alive.
