On August 27 and 28, 2025, the Travel Trade Maldives (TTM) 2025, a premier B2B travel trade exhibition, took place at Barcelo Nasandhura Maldives, with Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) serving as the Destination Partner. The event drew a diverse group of global travel professionals, including hoteliers, destination management companies, airlines, tour operators, and media, fostering connections through over 3,000 pre-arranged B2B meetings facilitated by the TTM Connect platform. These interactions allowed Maldivian resorts, hotels, and service providers to present new offerings, exclusive deals, and innovative products tailored to various international markets.
As the Destination Partner, Visit Maldives seized the opportunity to elevate the Maldives’ status as a top-tier global travel destination, emphasizing sectors such as luxury, wellness, halal, MICE, eco-tourism, and cultural experiences. Through strategic branding, digital campaigns, and targeted engagements, VMC enhanced the Maldives’ visibility among leading travel trade professionals. The organization also conducted key discussions with international operators and media to bolster its presence in both established and emerging markets.
The event concluded with the TTM Awards & Gala 2025, held on August 28 at Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi. This celebration honored exceptional contributions to the Maldives’ tourism industry, recognizing achievements in service, sustainability, innovation, marketing, and hospitality. The gala featured live cultural performances, music, and exclusive networking opportunities for industry leaders and global partners.
Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of Visit Maldives, praised TTM as a pivotal platform for connecting global travel trade professionals directly with Maldivian tourism products. He emphasized that the partnership underscored VMC’s commitment to reinforcing the Maldives’ position as a leading premium travel destination worldwide.
