This December, The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands will welcome the arrival of Luminara, the latest addition to The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, in a luxurious convergence of land and sea. The new 226-suite superyacht will debut two distinct itineraries across the Indian Ocean, creating a unique opportunity for travelers to combine a two-night stay at the iconic Maldivian resort with a luxury voyage either from Mauritius to the Maldives or from the Maldives to Singapore. This seamless transition from yacht to villa captures the essence of Ritz-Carlton elegance and regional discovery.
With the journey extending from one of the world’s most refined yachts to one of the Indian Ocean’s most sought-after island destinations, the collaboration promises an elevated travel experience. Guests will enjoy accommodations in an Ocean Pool Villa, which features a distinctive elliptical design, a private infinity pool, and uninterrupted ocean views. During their island stay, visitors can indulge in signature treatments at The Ritz-Carlton Spa® by Bamford, embark on snorkelling or diving excursions guided by naturalists, and savor international cuisine including Japanese omakase, Cantonese, Southern Italian, and Lebanese dishes — all within a resort renowned for its award-winning architecture.
Guests can also explore nearby Fari Marina Village via a short boat ride. The village is home to James Turrell’s Amarta light installation, Asian street food at Tum Tum, and Levantine-inspired dining at Arabesque. Beyond the island, guests can take part in offshore adventures such as diving in coral nurseries, sailing on a traditional dhoni, deep-sea fishing, or scenic seaplane flights offering panoramic views of the atoll’s lagoons and sandbanks. These curated land-based experiences complement the luxury lifestyle onboard Luminara, blending sea and shore into one fluid journey.
Launched in July 2025, Luminara is the third superyacht in The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection and marks the brand’s first sailings through Asia-Pacific waters. Known for its high guest-to-staff and space-to-guest ratios, the vessel offers a refined setting where art, design, and culinary excellence converge. Onboard, travelers will enjoy cuisine curated by acclaimed chefs Fabio Trabocchi and Michael Mina, wellness treatments at The Ritz-Carlton Spa using ESPA, 111SKIN, and Pisterzi products, and gallery-style spaces featuring works by artists such as Paul Klee, David Hockney, and Alexander Calder.
Two signature itineraries define this new offering. The first, sailing from Mauritius to the Maldives, departs on December 3, 2025. This nine-night cruise includes stops in Mahé and La Digue in the Seychelles, where guests can explore coral gardens and swim among granite rock formations. Upon reaching the Maldives, guests spend their final cruise night onboard Luminara before disembarking for a two-night stay at The Ritz-Carlton Maldives.
The second itinerary departs from the Maldives on December 10, 2025, and travels to Singapore over eleven nights. The journey begins with a two-night stay in an Ocean Pool Villa, after which guests board Luminara directly from the resort. Highlights of this sailing include cultural experiences in Colombo and Galle Fort, a rare visit to the Andaman Islands, and scenic voyages through Phuket and Langkawi’s limestone landscapes before concluding in Singapore.
Rates for these experiences begin at $12,400 USD per person and include the two-night stay at The Ritz-Carlton Maldives with daily breakfast. Availability is limited, and packages are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Upgrades to higher villa categories and additional excursions are available at an added cost.
