Surrounded by pristine white-sand beaches and coral-rich waters that sparkle like scattered pearls across the Indian Ocean, Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu—part of the renowned Coco Collection—invites guests to dive into a world of unforgettable marine encounters. Located within the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, this Maldivian resort is celebrated for its commitment to sustainability and marine conservation, having recently secured the title of Maldives’ Leading Green Resort 2025 for the third year in a row at the World Travel Awards.

A pioneer in eco-conscious luxury, the resort continues to offer a range of signature marine experiences under the guidance of resident Marine Educator Rosalie Bailie, and in collaboration with the Olive Ridley Project. Guests have the opportunity to take part in several immersive activities that highlight the region’s remarkable biodiversity.

Among the most popular offerings is guided snorkelling, where visitors can explore the vibrant house reef or journey to nearby coral gardens. These excursions cater to various skill levels and provide regular sightings of marine life such as green sea turtles, parrotfish, and—depending on the season—manta rays and eagle rays. Enthusiasts can also visit known turtle points and observe hawksbill turtles in their natural feeding grounds.

For those looking to contribute directly to conservation, the Coral Planting and Restoration workshop provides a hands-on approach to reef rehabilitation. Under expert instruction, participants attach coral fragments to specially designed frames which are then placed on the seabed to aid in reef regeneration and boost local marine biodiversity.

Diving enthusiasts, from beginners to seasoned professionals, can explore over 30 dive sites with certified PADI instructors. Highlights include trips to the famed Hanifaru Bay—home to manta rays and whale sharks—as well as dives among coral pinnacles and historic wrecks scattered throughout the atoll.

Another unique offering is the resort’s ORP Marine Turtle Rescue Centre, the Maldives’ first veterinary-run facility dedicated to sea turtle rehabilitation. Managed in partnership with the Olive Ridley Project, the centre allows guests to interact with rescued turtles, learn about the threats they face, and even adopt a turtle to support ongoing conservation efforts.

Visitors can also experience the reef in a new light—literally—through night snorkelling tours led by the Marine Educator. These after-dark adventures showcase the nocturnal transformation of the reef, offering glimpses of lionfish, resting parrotfish, and a variety of elusive marine species that only emerge at night.

Located in one of the most ecologically vibrant marine regions in the world, Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu offers a rare combination of relaxation and meaningful exploration. Travellers can take advantage of the Discover Coco promotional deals, which offer a 35% discount on villa bookings. For reservations, guests may contact: reservations@cococollection.com.
