MMPRC and Booking.com Host Workshop for Guesthouse Operators in the Maldives

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives), in collaboration with Booking.com, recently hosted a specialised workshop at the STELCO Auditorium aimed at enhancing the digital marketing capabilities of guesthouse operators across the country. This initiative marks the first workshop conducted under the new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between MMPRC and the global travel platform.

Designed to provide practical knowledge and industry insights, the session focused on empowering guesthouse owners and managers with the tools necessary to boost their visibility and performance on Booking.com. Participants engaged in targeted discussions and training modules that explored effective listing optimisation, current market trends, and proven techniques for increasing property attractiveness to potential guests.

Through direct interaction with experts from Booking.com, attendees received actionable strategies to strengthen their online presence and drive more bookings. The workshop also introduced them to advanced tools that influence digital visibility and revenue generation, equipping them with the skills to enhance customer reach and improve sales performance.

MMPRC reaffirmed its commitment to fostering strategic collaborations with industry stakeholders, noting that such initiatives are vital for reaching national tourism objectives. By supporting local guesthouses through capacity-building programmes like this, Visit Maldives aims to further stimulate growth in the guesthouse sector and elevate the Maldives’ position in the competitive global tourism landscape.
