At the Beijing International Tourism Expo (BITE) 2025, held from June 27 to June 29 at the China International Exhibition Center in Chaoyang, the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) showcased an array of travel experiences tailored for Chinese visitors. Represented at Stand 6T11, the Maldives delegation, joined by six prominent industry partners, engaged attendees with promotional videos, photo sessions, and direct business discussions with travel professionals. The participating companies—Try Maldives Holidays, Plumeria, Sun Siyam Travels, ICOM Marina Sea View, Diamonds Thudufushi Beach & Water Villas, and Courtyard Maldives—highlighted a diverse selection of offerings, ranging from boutique accommodations to comprehensive resort experiences, emphasizing the Maldives’ appeal as a versatile destination.

The Maldives has solidified its position as a top travel choice for Chinese tourists, welcoming 122,088 visitors from China as of June 11, 2025, after recording 263,340 arrivals in 2024, making China the leading source market for the year. MMPRC’s presence at BITE 2025 builds on a series of strategic initiatives in China, including digital marketing campaigns, collaborations with major tour operators, and media familiarization trips. These efforts, such as Visit Maldives Week in China and participation in regional tourism events, aim to sustain the destination’s visibility and attract more visitors. By leveraging these platforms, MMPRC continues to position the Maldives as a premier long-haul, year-round travel destination for Chinese travelers.
