Patina Maldives and The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, are set to jointly host the first-ever Fari Islands Festival from September 19 to 22, 2025. This new cultural initiative will spotlight creativity, conscious living, and global talent, positioning itself as a standout event in the Indian Ocean’s cultural calendar.

The debut festival will feature renowned contemporary artists and visionaries, including Canadian poet and illustrator Rupi Kaur, UK-based DJ Kim Turnbull, and Tokyo’s acclaimed fine dining collective Wagyumafia. This unique collaboration reflects both resorts’ commitment to offering meaningful, transformative experiences on the Fari Islands.

An Immersive and Reflective Cultural Experience

Unlike traditional festivals, the Fari Islands Festival emphasizes resonance and reflection, inviting attendees to engage deeply with art, nature, and mindful practices. The four-day programme is designed to facilitate authentic interactions with creators, innovators, and thought leaders in an intimate setting.

Creative Highlights:
Rupi Kaur will anchor the artistic programming with intimate poetry readings and discussions on language, emotion, and self-expression.

Wellness and Mindfulness:
The Bamford Experience, guided by wellness expert CJ Jones-Leake and sustainability advocate and former professional athlete Anthony Mullally, will offer daily grounding practices such as breathwork, mindful movement, and integrative therapy sessions.

Ocean-Focused Awareness:
Marine biologist and National Geographic Explorer Gibbs Kuguru, alongside the Olive Ridley Project, will lead immersive activities that include guided snorkelling excursions, conservation-focused workshops, and interactive dialogues designed to foster ocean stewardship.

Curated Sound and Culinary Journeys:
Kim Turnbull will shape the festival’s soundscape through ambient musical performances attuned to the island’s natural rhythm. Meanwhile, Wagyumafia will showcase its signature Kobe beef dining ritual in exclusive culinary experiences. Cocktail studio Nutmeg and Clove will present a reimagined bar concept, fusing storytelling and mixology.

A Shared Destination of Design and Philosophy

The festival unfolds across the Fari Islands, where architectural clarity and community-focused design converge. The central Fari Marina Village links both Patina Maldives and The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, allowing guests to move freely between the two properties and engage with a seamless blend of programming.

Patina Maldives offers an experience rooted in artistic curiosity and lasting transformation, while The Ritz-Carlton Maldives emphasizes craft, heritage, and harmony with nature through its “Circle of Life” philosophy. Together, they present a balanced and thoughtful approach to luxury and cultural engagement.

Leadership Reflections

“Patina Maldives was created to be a space for meaningful participation,” said Anthony Gill, General Manager of Patina Maldives. “The festival expands that vision, providing guests with opportunities to engage with art, ideas, and nature in an active, connected way.”

Oscar Postma, General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, added, “At our resort, we celebrate nature’s rhythm and the richness of human connection. The Fari Islands Festival embodies this spirit—inviting people to slow down, reflect, and be inspired through meaningful cultural exchange.”

Reservations are now open at both Patina Maldives and The Ritz-Carlton Maldives for those wishing to attend the festival. Additional programme announcements are expected in the coming weeks, featuring more international talent.
