Nominations for SATA 2025 are now open, inviting hospitality and tourism businesses from across South Asia to take part in the prestigious event. Since its launch in 2016, the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) have celebrated excellence in the region’s tourism sector, recognizing outstanding contributions from countries such as Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and India.
Each year, the awards provide an opportunity to showcase the best in the industry, with a range of categories, including Best New Hotel in South Asia, Leading Riverfront Hotel, Leading Palace Hotel, and Leading Designer Hotel. A panel of experts and industry professionals carefully selects winners in these categories. The event also brings together top executives, leaders, and travel enthusiasts for a night of networking and recognition.
SATA has earned significant backing from 15 international and government agencies, which further enhances its standing in the industry. Notable endorsers include the Maldives Marketing & PR Corporation (MMPRC), Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Association of Travel Agents (ATA), and Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO), among others.
The SATA 2025 ceremony will take place in Colombo, Sri Lanka, marking the ninth edition of the event. Past editions have been held at renowned locations, including Aloft Kathmandu Thamel in Nepal (2024), Sheraton Grand Bangalore in India (2023), and Amari Galle in Sri Lanka (2019).
SATA serves not only as a platform for honoring excellence but also for fostering industry discussions. It allows stakeholders to share insights and explore new trends in travel and tourism, contributing to the growth of the sector.
Businesses wishing to participate in SATA 2025 can submit their nominations online via the official SATA website until 15 March 2025.
