Ooredoo Maldives successfully completed the K. Huraa Masrace on 22nd August (Friday), uniting the community in a lively celebration of fishing, camaraderie, and tradition. The event saw 19 eager teams compete in the turquoise waters, highlighting the nation’s strong bond with the sea.
This year’s Champion title was claimed by Team Baakee, who excelled with an impressive 544.5 points, securing the grand prize of MVR 25,000. Team Nora took second place with 489.8 points, earning MVR 10,000, while Team Anantara placed third with 370 points, receiving MVR 5,000.

Heaviest Catch: Malaaz of Team Anantara reeled in a 20.6 kg Faana (8 bar).
Best Fisherman: Ziyad of Club MTCC, with 36 fish, received a PIO ULTIMATE SEA SPIRIT/GANGSTER (H/D) ROD sponsored by Hai Fishing.
Best Fisherwoman: Ameena of STELCO Kanbalun, with 7 fish, was awarded a PIO ULTIMATE SEA SPIRIT/GANGSTER (H/D) ROD sponsored by Hai Fishing.
As part of Ooredoo’s 20th Anniversary festivities, this year’s Masrace is being held in two locations — K. Huraa and Sh. Funadhoo. In its 16th edition, the Masrace has become a beloved name in the Maldivian community, capturing the essence of unity, culture, and the nation’s deep love for fishing.
