The south of Maldives came alive this weekend as Ooredoo Fun Run 2025 turned Addu City into a vibrant celebration of togetherness. With more than 3,000 participants, the event set a new benchmark for community-driven initiatives in the country,uniting people of all ages in a joyful tribute to health, happiness, and connection.
More than just a 5K, the Fun Run was a full-fledged experience. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Addu, runners encountered foam, color, and obstacle stations at every kilometer transforming the scenic route into a dynamic playground for kids, families, and friends. From toddlers to grandparents, everyone joined in running, laughing, and creating core memories
At the finish line, every participant was awarded a special medal featuring “Dhon Dheeni”, a bird native to Addu City and a symbolic tribute to the island’s rich natural heritage and local identity.
What made this edition truly exceptional was its ability to bring people together. It wasn’t a race, it was a celebration. Friends reunited, families bonded, and communities came together in a powerful display of shared joy and unity.
For the past three years, Ooredoo has been hosting two editions of Fun Run annually, spreading smiles and promoting wellness across the nation. The journey began with the first island edition in Kulhudhuffushi, followed by Laamu, and now, Addu Citywith each event reinforcing the power of community and the impact of shared experiences.
