Hard Rock Cafe’s World Burger Tour Hits Maldives with Unique Flavors
Island-inspired burger highlights Founders’ Day celebration.
Hard Rock Cafe is launching its annual World Burger Tour competition today, coinciding with Hard Rock International Founders’ Day, inviting guests to savor unique burgers crafted by chefs worldwide. At Hard Rock Cafe Maldives, Chef Nikhil Gopinathan presents the Island Spiced Coconut & Curry Burger, featuring two medium-well seared beef patties, topped with curry mayo, arugula, coconut flakes, cucumber, tomato, provolone, chimichurri cheese sauce, and shredded fried potato seasoned with island curry powder, reflecting the Maldives’ vibrant culinary heritage. From June 14 to August 5, guests can enjoy this tropical creation at The Marina at CROSSROADS Maldives, while other locations offer distinct burgers, like the Lasagna Burger with Ragu Bolognese and bechamel in Rome or the Jersey Shore Burger with blueberry maple aioli and provolone in Atlantic City. This year, chef and content creator Olivia Tiedemann joins as a mentor and judge, guiding chefs to refine their recipes with her expertise. She praised the chefs’ creativity, noting their ability to infuse local flavors and personal stories into their burgers. Based on her feedback, sales, and social media votes, five finalist burgers will be selected this summer and offered globally for a limited time, with one ultimate winner to be announced. Anna Melissa Olay, Manager of Hard Rock Cafe Maldives, highlighted the event as an opportunity for their chef to showcase creativity and for guests to experience a burger inspired by Maldivian culture. Marking 54 years since the first Hard Rock Cafe opened in London on June 14, 1971, this competition celebrates the brand’s growth into a global icon with over 300 cafes, hotels, resorts, and casinos.
