Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC), in collaboration with the National Hotel and Guesthouse Association of Maldives (NHGAM), successfully hosted the “I AM Maldives” Roadshow 2025 across Central and Eastern Europe. The initiative targeted three key emerging markets: Poland, Romania, and the Czech Republic, aiming to increase the Maldives’ visibility and engagement in the region.

The roadshow, organized in partnership with NHGAM, provided a dedicated platform to strengthen business ties, enhance the Maldives’ destination profile, and promote it as a preferred holiday destination. The events took place in Warsaw on 17 November, Bucharest on 19 November, and Prague on 21 November, bringing together travel industry professionals, tour operators, agencies, and media representatives.

Featuring 26 exhibitors—including resorts, hotels, guesthouses, liveaboards, and travel agencies—the “I AM Maldives” Roadshow highlighted the nation’s world-class hospitality, luxury offerings, community-led tourism initiatives, and diverse travel products. Attendees engaged in curated presentations, one-on-one business meetings, and networking sessions, providing Maldivian stakeholders with direct access to key regional partners.

Abdulla Nasheed, President of NHGAM, remarked, "The response from the Polish travel community has been exceptional. We're seeing genuine enthusiasm for the authentic Maldivian experience, from our community-led tourism initiatives on local islands to our world-class resort offerings. This roadshow allows us to showcase the diversity of what the Maldives has to offer while building the personal connections that drive real business growth."

Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of Visit Maldives Corporation, added, “The ‘I AM Maldives’ Roadshow represents our strategic focus on emerging European markets that continue to show strong growth potential. By strengthening partnerships and increasing awareness among regional travel trade partners, we aim to inspire more travellers from Poland, Romania, and the Czech Republic to experience the Maldives’ unique blend of natural beauty, culture, and luxury.”

The roadshow supports VMC’s broader goal of reaching the national tourism target of 2.3 million arrivals in 2025. By 30 September 2025, arrivals from Central Eastern Europe totaled 86,860, surpassing the 86,574 visitors recorded during the same period in 2024—indicating steady growth from the region.

Beyond expanding market reach, the initiative also offered destination training, provided the latest travel updates, and gathered insights on traveller preferences to inform future marketing strategies.
